About Me

- I am a fifth grade teacher in Lolo, Montana. I graduated from the University of Montana in 2004 with a Bachelors in Elementary Education and a literacy endorsement. I earned my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Montana in 2009.
What if Joseph Bruchac Visited My Classroom?
If Joseph Bruchac took the time out of his crazy schedule to visit my classroom, I would like to ask him the following questions:
1. I would want to know about the amount of research he puts into his novels. It was so helpful having an author's note at the end of most of his novels. Does most of this research come from books and the internet, or does he utilize his primary resources as much as possible?
2. How difficult is it to make these events come to life? Joseph Bruchac has mastered aesthetic reading experiences while combining efferent material to make his novels believable and authentic. Does this combination slow his creative mind down while he writes?
3. How would he encourage young adults to embrace their cultural history? How would he encourage students to make changes in their lives for the better?
